We might not have got the heatwave they got in the UK, but for sure we got one of the most dramatic sunsets on Saturday! I got to see it overlooking Westport & Clew Bay, so not my usual beach spot in Strandhill. And unfortunately I didn’t have my Xpan with me either! Why, because I was waiting on the Derek & Rosemary’s speeches to begin!
A lovely relaxed wedding from start to (almost) finish started in Charlestown last Saturday. I love it when a bride is ready quite early, as it means no last minute panics, a relaxed household, and I can get the photos we need, and then head to the church early so all the girls have time on their own with their families. After the ceremony we made a quick pitstop in Murray’s pub in the town and with Derek being a pub proprietor, he naturally went behind the bar for a few minutes to get some of the guests their pints!
With the weather perfect for photography, on arrival at Knockranny House Hotel we got all the photos done on the grounds of the hotel. Claire & the rest of the hotel staff then took over proceedings and looked after the bride, groom & all the guests. Before the Weightless Astronaunts kicked the party off, we had some of the best speeches of the year! When the photos look this good, you know there was some funny stuff mentioned! Shooting the video alongside myself during day was Niall from Complete Weddings, superb as always.
