WEDDING 10th DECEMBER SLIGO-BALLYGAWLEY

Last Saturday I shot my first wedding since the end of October, so it was great to get back shooting again. It was great to head over to the USA and photograph some amazing landscapes, but weddings are what I do, so after a few weeks break, I was ready to get back into it again. And I couldn’t have had a better wedding to shoot last Saturday. Susan & David, home from Austraila, were fantastic to work with, and their bridal party was super fun and never complained once while we got some shots outside….it was cold, really cold!

Starting at the bride’s home, it was so relaxed there and Ann Young & Melinda Kelly had both make-up & hair done with an hour to spare so no last minute panics at all! And the girls even went outside for a few quick relaxed portraits…I love how the old lanes in Ireland come out in photographs, so it was great when there was one right outside Susan’s front door!

Onto St.Joseph’s church where I quickly shot David & the guys outside on the newly landscaped grounds. With a super relaxed ceremony over, and the sky threatening rain, somehow or another we managed to get the important shots around the entrance to Markree Castle before heading towards the reception venue, Castle Dargan, where we managed to get some more shots outside before retreating to the warmth of the old house.

With loads of time before the meal was to begin I left the couple to enjoy their reception and meet all their guests proper. With the aroma of mulled wine floating around the hotel and with some gorgeous Christmas trees dotted around the various areas, it was a really homely, inviting reception. After a couple more impromptu portraits of Susan & the girls, and it was time for dinner, speeches, and some superb dancing!

Enjoy the preview, and as always I’d love to hear any comments!
