Happy New Year everybody…here’s to a great 2012!
First post of the year was my second to last wedding of 2011, taking place in Sligo. The night before I think I got about 4 hours sleep due to more gale force winds battering the houses out near the coast of Sligo…it’s just non-stop and is about to hit again tonight…I really miss the frozen Ireland of a year ago! But anyway, due to the wind, I was settled on doing all photography inside the following day for Martina & Keith’s wedding. Much to my surprise, we actually got outside for some pictures, which was great!
Martina was bridesmaid at two previous weddings I’ve photographed, so it’s great working with somebody who already knows what I’m after & how I work. I didn’t have to worry regardless as everybody at the wedding was really relaxed & easy going, so we got some great relaxed portraits both outside & inside the Radisson Hotel.
This wedding was also my first using two 5D mk2 cameras and it’s definitely letting me get some images I would have previously had trouble getting. I shoot pretty much all natural light, so the high iso capabilities of the camera is superb. I am still looking forward to the 1DX released later in the year, but for now it’s great shooting with these cameras.
