Emer & Eanna, Wedding, Ballina Co.Mayo to Keadue & Kilronan Castle, Co.Roscommon.
For the first time since I started shooting weddings in 2007, I got to start last Saturday’s wedding in Ballina photographing Eanna & the guys having a hot towel shave in the town! It was an early start to capture this but it was definitely worth it as the pictures came out really cool! And it was only a short spin over to Emer’s house to then start documenting the girls getting prepared. There was great excitement in the house with a lively bunch of bridesmaids & loads of people milling about. The weather held just long enough to capture some bridal portraits in the lovely garden before I headed off to Keadue for the ceremony.
Thankfully the rain I left in Ballina didn’t follow me all the way to Keadue & it was some of the calmest weather I’ve ever shot in…not any wind whatsoever! After capturing Eanna & the guys again, this time all suited up, I went about documenting the rest of the guests arriving & ceremony. This being a Ballina wedding essentially just in Roscommon, it was great to meet up with some of my past clients from the town including Aidan, whose wedding was the first one I shot on my own back in April 2007!
Following the ceremony, myself & the bridal party went down to the nearby lake for a few minutes, but as nice as it was, the lack of any wind meant the midges were out in force so we didn’t stay long and instead opted to use the gorgeous grounds of Kilronan Castle…not a bad second option to be honest!
After capturing a few more family groups & friend shots, I left the party to really begin…as you can see from the last photo, it was going to be a seriously lively evening!!
