Terri & Shane, Wedding, Garrison Co.Fermanagh to Castle Dargan, Co.Sligo
Last Saturday seen me in the beautiful countryside of Co.Fermanagh & Garrison. I’d only ever been to the nearby lake to photograph a bridal party, so this was my first time actually shooting a wedding in the area! And one thing I sometimes do if time allows is look for an unusual shot of the surrounds including the church. To find this shot below, I had to drive down some stunning farm lanes to get some height to show the area, and luckily still have the church spire in the frame!
Following the landscape shot, I headed towards Terri & the girls, who were getting ready nearby. Shooting the morning as it happened, capturing details & then some quick portraits when the girls were ready, it was time for the ceremony…that is actually how quickly a wedding morning can go!!
With Shane & the guys ready for a few relaxed portraits, and the last of the guests arriving, I shot the ceremony, again as it happened & it was a nice change to be in such a bright church! With the sun still shining, Terri & Shane emerged from the church, married & greeted everybody, while guests chatted & took their own pictures! We then made the shorter than I thought journey to Castle Dargan back in Sligo.
Since myself and the bridal party & families arrived before a lot of the guests, we got all the family pictures done nice & quickly, before getting the bridal party & couples pictures done around the grounds. I get to shoot in Castle Dargan quite a bit, so I do try to get new spots for pictures…the location above I’ve never shot in before, and I’ve not been down to the bridge that most photographers use since 2008 I think! We did have time while the guests got called for dinner & Shane got to drive a golf buggy, so a bonus fun factor!!
And fingers crossed, another bonus will be a few awesome frames of panoramic film which I shot. Because it’s film, it needs to be sent off to the UK for processing, so patience is required to see what might come out!!
Congrats again Terri & Shane! Enjoy the break before your honeymoon!
