Lorraine & Dan, Wedding, Enniscrone Co.Sligo
Here’s a preview of a gorgeous wedding I shot last Friday in a damp Enniscrone in Sligo. Rain or shine on a wedding you just have to get on with things and that’s exactly what Lorraine & Dan & everybody else did on the wedding day. It was a superb relaxed day, full of moments with half the guests from across the sea in the UK all making the most of the Irish hospitality!
After a pretty emotional morning & ceremony, somehow after the ceremony the rain eased enough to allow us to chance a few relaxed portraits near the old seaweed baths…only to get heavy again as we arrived at the location. But with the church & hotel, and this location all within 5 minutes of each other, we decided to wait as there looked like a clear sky approaching us. Low & behold, within a few minutes of waiting, it stopped raining and we got 10-15 minutes of dry weather! More than enough time to get all the portraits on the sea front that we needed! When you grow up in a location, it is kind of special to have a few portraits with the beach & location in the background, so I was delighted that Lorraine & Dan trusted me with the weather!!
Arriving back at the Ocean Sands Hotel, pretty much all the guests were already there & I was able to get back in documentary mode & look for some nice moments, before heading across the road to an old local pub where we got a few more quick portraits whilst the hotel was busy seating all the guests – that’s a great time to get a few more portraits of the bride & groom if necessary as it’s 30 minutes of free time!
I’m always surprised by places like old pubs…as there’s usually a couple of spots where the light is pretty amazing & can make for a gorgeous portrait…something extra for the couple & in a location that means something to them!
Congrats again Lorraine & Dan! Enjoy your honeymoon! And thank you again for trusting me to capture your wedding!
