Ruth & Conal, Wedding, Ransboro to Castle Dargan Co.Sligo.
Ransboro…a church like Strandhill that’s very close to where I live, but one where I haven’t been to for a while, so it was great to be there for Ruth & Conal’s wedding last Saturday. On arrival at Ruth’s home, it was great to see Ann Young just finishing up with the make-up, which meant that like Friday’s wedding, this would also be a ceremony to start on time! And for sure, after getting some relaxed shots around the house, I quickly made my way to the church, photographed Conal & the guys, and just as quickly the bridesmaids & bride turned up…even a couple of minutes before the priest arrived!
When Fr.Conlon arrived a few minutes later, the super relaxed ceremony started! There’s two priests around the north-west who’s ceremonies really are a pleasure to listen to & you don’t know what they’re going to say…Fr.Pat in Coolaney, and Fr.Conlon. The photograph of the crowd below gives you an indication of how well the ceremony went down with the guests!
Following the ceremony, a few family shots, and a sprinkling of rain, myself, Alan on video & Ruth & Conal, stopped at nearby Ballisodare Bay to get a couple of shots with Knocknarea in the background, before we made our way to Castle Dargan for the reception. With the wind kicking up but the sun still shining, we got some relaxed shots around the courtyard area before I left the bride & groom to enjoy their reception with their family & friends.
While the reception was on-going, I went to capture some of the details in the dining room, and came across the most awesome cake-topper I’ve shot yet…Slash from Guns n’ Roses! I’ve been a huge Gn’R fan since the 90’s so to capture this was pretty cool! And the rest of the details with the vinyl table numbers was great too!
Thanks again for having me document your wedding day Ruth & Conal…and enjoy your honeymoon & that Gn’R concert!!
