Louise & Gerard, Wedding, Ballymote Co.Sligo to Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon Co.Leitrim

Last Saturday seen me in nearby Ballymote for Louise & Gerard’s wedding, where I started at the guys house for a change. Capturing a few details and documenting Gerard, Marty & Paul finishing up with the wedding cars was the main aim for my half hour with the guys…at 10am in the morning it’s a bit early to be all suited up, and I always get a few relaxed portraits of the guys before the ceremony begins.

A few hundred metres over the road, I arrived at Louise’s home to begin documenting the girls preparations! Everyone in this house was just as relaxed as Gerard & the guys were too, and all the girls were pretty much ready too! With the church less than 5 minutes away, this again was going to be a wedding starting bang-on time at 1pm!

With Louise & the girls dressed & ready a good hour before the 1pm start time, we were able to get a few portraits outside, before moving inside to avoid the drizzle, but still have loads of time to wait out the small shower & go back outside! Usually at this point of the day, there isn’t enough time, but on this day with everyone ready so early, it really was super relaxed! And I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve arrived at the church before any of the guests have!

After getting a few relaxed portraits of Gerard & the guys, I went into documentary mode to capture the guests arriving and the bridesmaids & bride who arrived spot on at 1pm! With the sun breaking through during the ceremony & the temperatures warming up, following the ceremony everybody gathered outside the church chatting & mingling as we captured some of the family groups, including grandparents which is always awesome!

Even though it was a little windy, the rain was gone so nobody was complaining, as myself, Caroline from Pink Lime & the bridal party went to the park next to the church for some quick portraits. Having a location so near to the church is always great for getting portraits, as I was able to leave the bride & groom to enjoy their reception when we arrived in Carrick. And when the bell was called for dinner, we were able to get a few more quick portraits on the boardwalk on the River Shannon without anybody missing any part of the wedding day!

Congratulations again Louise & Gerard, and have an amazing time in Australia!!
