Nisha & Keith, Wedding, Breedogue Boyle to Radisson, Co.Sligo
I photographed Nisha & Keith’s engagement shoot almost a year ago, so I knew they’d be relaxed in front of the camera when it came to photographing their wedding…and last Friday it was their wedding, and yes, they were just as relaxed, and so was everybody else on the day!
I arrived nice & early on the shores of Lough Key, to document the morning preparations, and there was already some emotions, which is always great…weddings can be an emotional time, and that makes for some great photojournalist images if you shoot it right.
There was also some fab details to shoot…a gorgeous dress, loads of Polaroids and some local horses & donkeys! Aside from a short sprinkle of drizzle, the morning went perfectly, and we got all the relaxed bridal portraits, before I made my way to Breedogue to capture a few quick portraits of Keith & the guys before the rest of the guests arrived, followed by the bridesmaids & bride & dad.
The ceremony could be summarised as an emotional few moments at the top of the aisle, a few shaky hands lighting the candles, a firefighting best-man, but very relaxed & beautiful, including some readings by friends & family. Following the ceremony & receiving line, we got the family photos done quick & easy at the church entrance, before myself & the bridal party headed to nearby Boyle Abbey to get some portraits done. Old abbeys are amazing to photograph in, and you could easily spend a lot of time there, but there’s only so many photographs you need, and it’s important to get back to the reception to actually be at your wedding with friends & family…that’s what it’s all about after all!
Congrats again Nisha & Keith! Enjoy your honeymoon!
