This was it, my last weekend of wedding season 2016…and I know I had a break for a few weeks as I went away, but end of October is traditionally when I stop shooting for a little while, and while I do have 3 more weddings before 2016 finished, Noreen & Vincent’s wedding was one of my last before a short break. And what a weekend to finish with! Glorious weather, gorgeous autumnal colour almost at its peak and a great couple & wedding to boot!
Normally I start with the bride preparing in the morning, but for this wedding, I started in Vincent’s home near Ballina – not technically a Ballina wedding, but very close!!!! The guys were super relaxed & that’s a great thing as you know they’ll be easy going on the day and they get to see how I work early on too. I then made the short drive through Ballina to Noreen’s home on the edge of Co.Sligo, where I got down to documenting the rest of the morning’s preparations.
With a nice relaxed ceremony, and the weather just amazing for October, we got all the family photos done quickly, before deciding to get a few bridal portraits at the back of the church…why, because the light was amazing & the tree colour was superb…when it all lines up like that, just go with it & get things done…it meant more time in the pub later on!! After finding another great spot near Straide, myself & Noreen & Vincent grabbed a few more quick relaxed portraits. And sometimes it’s the last minute decision that works out best…the gorgeous shot above on the bridge was something I just seen as we finished up & it turned out to be my favourite shot of the day!
