Aisling & Kevin, Wedding, Harvey’s Point, Co.Donegal
You can see from the picture above there was bits of snow on the ground…it was cold last Friday, very cold, as I drove up to Donegal. And there was fog on every single bit of the drive up from Sligo that had the coast pretty close to the road. But thankfully as I pulled into the road next to Harvey’s Point, I was greeted with the amazing, calmest scene ever…see first image! These are pretty much the most perfect conditions to shoot a winter wedding in…calm, clear, dry, and you know the gorgeous light is coming around 3pm for about an hour!!
And with Aisling & Kevin’s wedding all taking place in Harvey’s Point, I knew we should be ok with the light. So with a beautiful ceremony in the new ceremony room in the hotel, we quickly got some family pictures done inside in the warmth, before myself & the bridal party braved the cold outside to get some relaxed portraits by the lake. And actually with the sun shining, it wasn’t that cold…certainly not 2010 winter cold anyway!!
Following the lakeside shoot, myself, Aisling & Kevin with David the best-man driving, headed up the Blue Stack Mountains to somewhere Kevin had found & suggested would be fab for pictures, if I didn’t mind going up. I was all up for it as long as the couple was! Thankfully it was pretty dry up there, thankfully the road that had got washed out the week before was drivable, and thankfully we got up there just before sunset! The light up there was pretty amazing, so were the views & so was Aisling & Kevin for suggesting the location & braving it out!
Congratulations again Aisling & Kevin, and thanks so much for having me document your wedding in Donegal!
