Valerie & Michael, Wedding, Cornboy to Mulranny, Co.Mayo
I photographed Valerie & Michael’s engagement shoot almost a year ago. At the time, I don’t think I even checked where their wedding was, just that we were going to Mulranny from somewhere in Mayo. Little did I know I’d be heading to pretty much the most northern part of Mayo, ending up at one of the most amazing beaches in Ireland! And clocking up about 350km driving from leaving my home to returning later that evening! To get to that beach was worth it!
With both Valerie & Michael getting ready within sight of the church, it was always going to be a relaxed day, aside from the sheep lining the road around the church & en-route to Mulranny! Everybody was ready pretty much on time. The weather somehow held out right up until we landed in Mulranny, and at which stage everything that needed to be done outside was done so nobody minded the rain that was falling.
It’s been a while since I photographed on a beach, and I’d forgot how gorgeous the light can be, as it gets reflected from the sand below. It was an overcast day but the reflected light gave the bride & groom & bridal party a gorgeous glow that you’d be hard to replicate inside an actual studio! Valerie & Michael said there were dolphins swimming around the bay earlier that week, but they didn’t make an appearance for us, but I think we were more than happy with the dry day instead!
Congratulations again Valerie & Michael, and thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous part of Mayo with me!
