Fiona & Alan, Wedding, Carna, Co.Galway to Salthill Hotel, Galway
From one of my shortest commutes to a wedding on the Friday, Saturday’s wedding was one of the longest, but I certainly wasn’t complaining, as I drove through Westport and into Connemara, the scenery enroute to Fiona’s house in Carna, was simply spectacular! It’s not often I’ll stop somewhere going to a wedding, but I had to this time, twice in fact!
And as amazing was the scenery & landscape around Fiona’s home, and just a few meters down the road, Alan & the guys were getting ready so I was able to start with a few relaxed portraits of them, before I moved onto the bride & girls preparing & loads of Fiona’s family milling about…it was definitely one of the busier houses I’ve shot in, but that meant plenty to photograph!
Following the ceremony, we made our way towards Salthill, stopping briefly in Spiddal to get some pictures on one of the beaches nearby, or rather the rocks, as the tide was in so the beach was inaccessible…but it still looked great in the sunshine of Galway bay! When we made it to sunny Salthill, Fiona & Alan were up for a few more minutes in the park opposite the hotel, for a few portraits with a different feel to the beach scenes we had got earlier.
Even with the drive between venues and the photos, there was still plenty of time to relax with guests, get a few work/friends pictures before speeches began & dinner got served!
Congratulations again Fiona & Alan, and thank you so much for having me document your wedding in & around Carna!
