Olivia & Shane, Wedding, Ballintogher Co.Sligo to Castle Dargan
I photographed Olivia’s sisters wedding back in 2008, so it was great when Olivia & Shane wanted me to document their wedding last weekend. I think their only request was that they had different pictures from her sisters. Not a problem, as I’ve changed quite a bit since 2008, but also because Castle Dargan is quite easy to work in & use different areas!
As soon as I arrived in Olivia’s home near Ballintogher, I just got straight into documenting what was happening. I think the toughest thing we faced on the day was the constant on/off drizzle which didn’t stop until late afternoon, but that let the couple enjoy some time in the local pub after the ceremony, before heading to Castle Dargan where it stopped raining enough that we could get outside to get some portraits around the grounds. It also came up while talking with the newish hotel wedding coordinator do I ever go out the back to the remains of the castle, and I pretty much said not unless the bride & groom want to. It takes a long time to get out & back and I’d much rather get the shots closer to the reception, therefore giving the bride & groom much more time with their guests, which is what the day is all about.
Congrats again Olivia & Shane!
