Mairead & Johnny, Wedding, Cloverhill Co.Roscommon to Castle Dargan Co.Sligo
I’ve been looking forward to photographing Mairead & Johnny’s weddings all year…I work with Johnny a lot during wedding days as he’s a wedding videographer and himself & Mairead also do photography occasionally. But very much like my own wedding, they told me they had nothing specific they wanted during the day & to just do my thing!
So right from the moment I arrived in Mairead’s house I got down to documenting the day, and capturing some portraits of the girls & honestly I don’t think Mairead stopped smiling all day! And with a great crew getting the girls ready, and the promised rain holding off, we managed to get a few relaxed portraits inside, and outside, before I headed up to the church to photograph Johnny & the guys before the ceremony. Johnny’s a very relaxed guy, but you could see a few nerves creeping in, and that’s a good thing as it’s not everyday you get married! But it’s also something you cannot plan on no matter how many weddings you’ve been too. I myself was cool as a cucumber before my own wedding…right up until the moment the music started & my now wife walked up the aisle…cue the tears at that moment!!
With a beautiful ceremony, topped off with some gorgeous singing by one of Johnny’s sisters’, after everybody warmed up outside the church in a marquee with some fresh coffee & goodies! Nice touch and the marquee was definitely needed as it was spitting rain.
Thankfully that rain didn’t dampen spirits, and on the way back to Castle Dargan, we stopped off in Boyle Abbey, one on my favourite places for photographs, and thankfully it has a gorgeous glass covered area, so we were still able to get photographs outside, but without getting wet! And as you can see from the pictures below, Mairead & Johnny were simply perfect in front of the camera!
Congratulations again Mairead & Johnny…and thank you so much for trusting me with capturing your wedding day!
Beautiful photos captured the day so well
Great work Mark.
