Sharon & Tom, Wedding, Collooney, Castle Dargan Co.Sligo
You might remember Sharon & Tom from their fab engagement shoot a few weeks ago…or if that’s not it & you’re a guy who’s got married or is getting married & you seem to recognise Tom but just can’t put your finger on it…chances are either he’s helped dress you for your big day, or is helping you! He’s one of EJ Menswear infamous crew…and he actually dressed myself for my own wedding back in 2010!
This was a fab wedding start to finish, full of laughter, smiles, awesome moments, storm Brian, and a bride & groom outside in the rain!
Starting at the bride’s home near the church, the girls were all but ready, and even with the heavy passing showers, the light filled rooms were a joy to work in! Give a wedding photographer a smiling bride & bright rooms and he/she’ll be very happy!!
I’ve said it many times before on this blog, but my job as a wedding photographer covers much more besides!! Last Saturday was weather forecaster & flower delivery guy to the groomsmen & groom at the church. As soon as Eamon from EJ’s sorted the boys out with their buttonholes, we grabbed a few quick portraits between the rain. I expected the boys to look pretty awesome, and they lived up to that! Well done Eamon & co! PS: I still actually own & use on a daily basis a leather belt I bought from the very first EJ’s shop on Market St in Sligo…hows that for longevity!!
Following on from the ceremony, and with the rain on/off, we all waited nearby for the rain to stop to give us a few minutes for a few super quick portraits outside. As soon as it stopped, we got to it & I worked as fast as I could before storm Brian threw some more nasty weather at us, but Sharon & Tom were awesome…we got some pictures outside, we got some umbrellas in time & we headed to Castle Dargan where we arrived pretty much before everybody else, so from here on in, everything was inside in the warmth of the Coach House and I left the bride & groom to enjoy the company of their guests as they all arrived.
As the light was fading and the guests called in for dinner, myself & Sharon & Tom grabbed a few quick portraits in the Coach House room. And that wraps up wedding season 2017, my eleventh year as a wedding photographer! I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone!
Congrats again Sharon & Tom…and thanks again for braving it out with storm Brian bearing down on us!
