Kathryn & Andrew, Wedding, Bohola to Mount Falcon, Ballina, Co.Mayo
So this is it! Kathryn & Andrew’s wedding was my final one for 2017! Wow the year seemed to fly by, as they all do now! March, when I started wedding season, seems a long time ago but also just a couple of months ago if you understand! I kick off 2018 in March again with another busy year thankfully! I’m looking forward to meeting all the couples who have booked me to document their upcoming weddings this year.
But anyway, back to Kathryn & Andrew’s wedding which took place a few days after Christmas on a cold, crisp Mayo day, the kind of day you want for a winter wedding, mostly dry, but with the indoors reception at Mount Falcon so inviting & warm! With both Andrew & Kathryn getting ready at Mount Falcon, I was able to drift between both rooms & capture all the last minute preparations.
I’m a wedding photographer, I take pictures! But on the day I’ll also try my hand at being a wedding planner/time keeper & whatever else might be needed of me! Some things I do in the background because it makes my job a little easier, like drying the stems of the bouquets so we can actually get pictures without water getting on the girls dresses. I’ve also given the groomsmen a lift back to the reception after their vintage car broke down! I play a bit at being a weather forecaster too! And you can add grooms personal shirt ironer too! Andrew’s brand new shirt needed a little TLC so I put my hand up & said I could iron it! Whatever it takes!! Thanks to Darren for the quick shot of me doing some groomsman duties!
Kathryn & Andrew had an amazing day, with around 170 or so guests, mostly from the UK, with plenty of laughs, tears, emotions & when I left the party looked like it was just getting going!
Congrats again Kathryn & Andrew! And thank you again for trusting me to capture your wedding! Thanks for braving the cold weather for a few quick portraits!
