Elaine & Eugene, Wedding, Castleconnor to Castle Dargan Co.Sligo
So we’re going back a couple of weeks, to I guess the start of the heatwave, to Elaine & Eugene’s fabulous summer wedding in county Sligo. With lots of details to capture, a bride & her bridesmaids ready early, we were able to get some great portraits around Elaine’s home garden, in some of the most beautiful morning light. And anyone who has met me, has probably met my cats so it’s natural I’m going to photograph any family pets, especially cats, especially two beautiful ceiling cats – a nickname for all white cats (all black are called basement cats)!!
Continuing the early theme, we were able to get some gorgeous relaxed portraits as soon as the girls were ready before I made my way to Castleconnor church, where I met Eugene & the guys & the rest of the guests arriving. A summer wedding always has a certain extra happy vibe to it, and this was no different. I’m well used to a bride smiling all day long, but I think Eugene was pretty much the same as Elaine in that neither stopped smiling from the moment I arrived!
Following on from the ceremony, almost all the guests were hanging around outside the church in the glorious sunshine & heat allowing me to roam around capturing some natural pictures for the best part of 45 minutes while the church emptied.
Shooting on a beach on a bright, sunny day is quite possibly one of the most challenging situations you can do on a wedding day! Because it’s so bright, I just rely on 18 years of photography experience & treat the pictures like it’s film…no mistakes & following what I know! To be honest, I didn’t know if Elaine & Eugene’s Enniscrone beach pictures came out until I edited them!
On arrival at Castle Dargan as you can see from the pictures, the party was well & truly moved outside & in full swing when the bride & groom arrived in their classic car! We even squeezed in a few more relaxed couple shots while the hotel was ushering in the guests for dinner…and this is always a great time to get a few more portraits, without loosing anytime chatting with guests, and it’s always great to get some alone time on the wedding day.
Congratulations again Elaine & Eugene, and thanks so much for trusting me with documenting & capturing your beautiful wedding day!
