WEDDING 24TH MAY CLIFFONEY-SLIGO PARK HOTEL

wedding photographer sligoAndrea & Christopher, Wedding, Cliffoney to Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo

Oh how the weather can change on the coast! Before I went to Andrea’s home in the morning, I scoped out a couple of locations around the cliffs of Mullaghmore…perfect! Starting proper at Andrea’s home not far from Cliffoney, I just got down to documenting the last of the preparations, before getting some relaxed shots of the bride & bridesmaids and some quick family shots around the garden.

Onward to the church nearby and after the ceremony, we got to the door & found it misty & drizzly! Again, things change quickly near the coast, and before all the guests had congratulated the bride & groom, we were able to get some family pictures quickly outside, before we made the decision to try to get some images around Mullaghmore, but not before Andrea cast her vote in the local Irish elections!

In those few hours from my morning recon drive and after the ceremony, conditions were so different! It was howling & misty & typically rough coastal weather! But fair play to all, we grabbed a few quick pictures around the cliffs, beach area before heading back in the road to Sligo where it was pretty sunny! Oh well! We got a good mix of pictures inside & outside the newly renovated Sligo Park Hotel. The Sligo Park is a Sligo institution, and as a kid I remember it used to have fab gardens out the front, but not anymore. But there’s a pretty hidden garden location out the back of the restaurant that is absolutely beautiful, and can rival any hotel in the area for getting bridal pictures done. I’m easily pleased…just give me some trees, a grassy area and a big really old wall with ivy growing on it!! Jackpot!!

Congrats again Andrea & Christopher! Thanks for braving the weather!!
