WEDDING 7TH JUNE MARKREE CASTLE SLIGO

wedding photographer markreecastleSarah & Johnny, Wedding, Markree Castle, Sligo

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday it rained harder than I’ve seen in a long time. The river Unshin beside Markree had certainly burst it’s banks and was flooding the surrounding fields. But when it mattered, on Friday, for Sarah & Johnny’s wedding, it stopped raining, and the sun even made an appearance! Call it whatever you want, but it sure makes the day a little easier, and it’s always gorgeous getting portraits in & around the gardens and for the bridal party to sit & chill & knock back a few drinks!

This was a super relaxed wedding, start to finish! With both bride & groom getting ready in the castle meant I could get preparation shots of both ladies and gents and with both everybody ready really early, I was able get some nice relaxed portraits inside & outside. The more I get to explore the corridors of Markree, the more I like it for portraits and it’s always changing depending on the light. And with sneaky little courtyards, dotted around the castle you can even bring the bride & bridesmaids outside without any guests (or groom) getting a look before the ceremony!

Congratulations Sarah & Johnny…thanks again for having me at & trusting me to document your wedding and for giving me all the time in the gardens!
