WEDDING 3RD SEPTEMBER BALLAGHADERREEN-LOUGH RYNN CASTLE

wedding photographer loughrynnFiona & Dave, Wedding, Ballaghaderreen to Lough Rynn Castle

For almost two weeks 2020 felt almost normal! Three weddings to photograph, almost flat out and normal for this time of year! But alas that’s pretty much my wedding season done for the year. There’s a couple more small days to cover that I’m looking forward but like most other photographers, nothing consistent every week now.

Back to Fiona & Dave’s wedding a couple of weeks ago and start to almost finish, it was a relaxed day. In the morning, getting a little lippy on the wedding dress, no panic! I think all this Covid stuff and postponing and uncertainty has definitely relaxed people when it actually comes to the wedding day that they’ve been looking forward to for so long. I seen this quote at Enya & Steve’s wedding in July, and it’s so applicable to weddings this year – “You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens.”

Aside from a few sprinkles while getting some bridal portraits, it was a stunning early September wedding day. Glorious sunshine in the Lough Rynn courtyard and gardens. Working alongside Niall from Complete Weddings was a pleasure as always. At the time of Fiona & Dave’s wedding, he filmed my own wedding day nearly 10 years ago, but turns out he had never filmed in the courtyard of Lough Rynn! That’s one of my favourite areas to shoot in, and gives a totally different feel to Lough Rynn, than the gardens.

This was my first time to Lough Rynn this year, and probably my last until 2021, but as always, the venue looked stunning and was laid out beautifully and you’d never know there was only 50 guests. The few venues I’ve been to so far have done an amazing job of following the social distancing guidelines yet not having their dining rooms look too spacious.

Congrats again Fiona & Dave…and thank you so much for having me at your wedding…start to finish it was a pleasure! Stay safe!
