Stacey & Brian, Engagement Shoot, Strandhill, Co.Sligo
Finally, an engagement shoot in 2021! And an upcoming wedding for Stacey and Brian later this week! Weddings are few and far between at the moment, and will be right up until the end of June. That is what the uber tight restrictions have done and I can of course understand it. But I’m a wedding photographer and no amount of photographing landscapes gets you ready to photograph people! So it was great to get back at it with an engagement shoot in the dunes of Strandhill.
Stacey and Brian were just like all my couples, and thats exactly what I told them at the start of the shoot…most couples aren’t super comfortable in front of the camera, myself included! But sometimes the thought of the eshoot is way more ‘scary’ than the actual shoot. Once we get walking and shooting, it goes by quickly & couples relax into it and we get some good relaxed portraits, which is what it’s all about and of course getting used to the camera before the wedding day! If you have an engagement shoot planned with myself or even another photographer, there’s a few tips for engagement shoots here which might be of interest in getting the best from the shoot!
I mentioned in my previous post that I will be doing some panoramic portraits at weddings this year. I’ll also be doing some at engagement shoots and yesterday was as good as any-time to start shooting them. These images are hard to take in on a small screen, they’re really made to be viewed large, either on a full screen desktop or ultimately where they should be, printed large hanging on a wall. At some point later in the year I might shoot a full engagement shoot on the panoramic camera, lets see!!
