Temple House…a Sligo venue I’ve only ever been to once, a bride getting ready back in 2014 I think. For some reason I just haven’t had a wedding to photograph…until last week! When Lisa & DJ tied the knot in front of family and a few friends.

With the weather forecast being spot on…lashing rain getting heavier throughout the afternoon, the outdoor ceremony was switched to the big open but covered car port in front of Temple House and it worked out beautifully! A stunning location, everybody outside but covered and one of the nicest ceremonies I’ve had the chance to be a part of!

Following the ceremony, the onslaught of bubbles and a few family shots, we just stayed inside the car port and grabbed a few relaxed portraits. The weather was supposed to dry off later in the evening, so I knew we’d have a chance to get outside proper then…and we did! As soon as the meal was finished, Lisa & DJ and myself grabbed some wellies and wandered up to the Templar Castle ruins and got some more nice shots around the ruins and amongst the lovely long wild grass – there’s nothing better than all the long grass in the fields at the moment and even better that it’s all getting left to go long for the bees!

Following the beautiful first dance – I’m loving the off the cuff first dances at the moment, obviously with the smaller groups and no band, it’s actually left to the couple and guests to sort the music, so it kind of just happens! – everybody went outside to have a play with some sparklers, and little did the guests know that Lisa & DJ were going to surprise them with a fireworks display! The first bang in the sky always gives everyone a big shock! Always a challenge to photograph, the fireworks were stunning and came out pretty well – Temple House is a stunning venue, even more so with a fireworks display as there is loads of room and its easy to find a good spot to photograph the couple from!
