Personal Data I Actually Collect
If you’ve booked & paid me to photograph your wedding, then I naturally collect your name, address, email address, phone numbers, parent names, religion as per my booking form. And all of this is simply necessary so I can do my job as your wedding photographer which is what you’ve hired me for.
If you are just making an enquiry on this website but do not actually book me, then I receive your name & email address. I use your e-mail address solely to provide timely information about my wedding photography services as requested. I do not have newsletters or updates that get emailed out so if you do not book me for your wedding photography, you will not hear from me again!
Similar to other commercial websites, my website utilises a standard technology called ‘cookies’ (see explanation below) and server logs to collect information about how our site is used. Information gathered through cookies and server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at my site, and the websites visited just before and just after our own, as well as your IP address.
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.
IP addresses are used by your computer every time you are connected to the Internet. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer. IP addresses are automatically collected by my web server as part of demographic and profile data known as “traffic data” so that data (such as the Web pages you request) can be sent to you.
If you choose to correspond with me through email, I may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. I provide the same protections for these electronic communications that I employ in the maintenance of information received online, mail and telephone. For further information see the email policies below.
How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to me?
I use personal information for purposes of providing business information as requested by you.
I will not obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit my site.
If you comment on the Blog section of my website, it’s public so everyone can see it but you choose what information to leave. I do not collect that information on the comments section.
I may disclose information when legally compelled to do so, in other words, when I, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of my legal rights.
I am committed to keeping your e-mail address confidential. I do not have a subscription list or newsletter so therefore do not sell, rent, or lease a subscription list to third parties, and I will not provide your personal information to any third party individual, government agency, or company at any time unless strictly compelled to do so by law.
I will use your e-mail address solely to provide timely information about Mark Capilitan Photography’s services as requested.
I will maintain the information you send via e-mail in accordance with applicable law.
I am committed to conducting our business in accordance with these principles in order to ensure that the confidentiality of personal information is protected and maintained.
Storage of Photographs & Information
If you book me to photograph your wedding, I keep a copy of all photographs up until I deliver the finished album & images on USB. Once delivered, all photographs & album design are deleted except for one copy of the edited photographs, which I keep on an external, password protected hard drive. This is so I can always have a copy of your images if you ever require a new USB or if something unforeseen happens to your album – this has happened to multiple clients in the past & they were super grateful that I still had their images to hand.
Your personal date such as your Booking Form & Terms & Conditions form is also archived once your album has been delivered, again on an external, password protected hard drive.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, or your dealings with my website, please contact me here & I’ll do my best to go through everything with you with regards the data I collect:
