Ciara & Darren, Wedding, Dromard Co.Sligo to Castle Dargan
You know what I love about weddings? One of the bits is definitely walking into the brides home in the morning, and seeing what’s going on. It’s always different. And on the morning of Ciara & Darren’s wedding, I walked into the house, and boom, the champagne was pretty much ready to pop…and pop it did, almost taking out the light piece in the middle of the room and spilling all over the floor…that’s how you do it! After that, it was back to just documenting the last of the preparations and getting some detail shots. With Ciara and the girls ready in great time, I had a bit of time to wander around the house looking for a few nice spots for some relaxed portraits.
On arrival at the church in Dromard, where coincidence, I had started beside the week before at Linda’s home, I got a few quick shots of Darren and the guys before the ladies arrived and it was time to walk up the aisle. Fast forward to the end of the ceremony and somehow it stopped raining, so the bride & groom braved a bit of the weather and greeted all their guests outside the church before driving down the road to Castle Dargan, where voilà, we arrived to sunshine! I don’t think any of us was expecting that, but we made the most of the sun, and got some more relaxed portraits outside the hotel. After these pictures, everything else was inside, some relaxed candid shots, some relaxed family shots, the meal, speeches and everything else in the Coach House room – I love that room, and this is actually only the third wedding I’ve been to that has had their meal in this room, and one of those weddings was my own!!
I was staying on late at this wedding, so I got to capture some more of the guests later on, and at that stage, most people were used to me, except the odd one or two…but that makes a for a good shot! And you know the crowd is used to you when you get to capture some good dancing pictures…dance like there’s no photographer beside you!
Congrats again Ciara & Darren…and thank you so much for having me at your wedding…start to finish it was a pleasure! Stay safe!
