Fiona & Philip, Proposal Shoot, Strandhill Co.Sligo
As 2020 draws to an end, thereās no need for me to repeat how challenging and pretty awful itās been to a lot of people but thereās still a few golden moments out there. And Philip proposing to Fiona in Strandhill last week was definitely one those beautiful moments!
I got the call up pretty last minute for a shoot like this, and while it looks easy enough to shoot, itās the logistics and organisation that requires a good bit of thought! You get one chance at a shoot like this and it happens very quickly! But it all worked out pretty perfectly! Aside from the sun going behind the clouds right at sunset just as the couple arrived, it was a rare dry December day so weāll take that for sure!
Having never met the couple nor having any idea of what they looked like, a quick text from Philip to say they were on their way was my only heads up! As the couple walked over the dunes and towards the spot where the surprise proposal would happen, I tried to blend into the background as I pretended to shoot the surfing off the point. At that moment it does happen real quick & for me Iām trying to look somewhere else but also glancing round to see what Philip is doing and as soon as he reached for the ring in his pocket, thatās when I start shooting and shooting!
Congratulations again Fiona & Philip! I was delighted to be able to capture this special moment in your lives!
A special thanks to all the people who were out walking or watching the boys surfing Blue Rock, that kept this area clear for Fiona & Philip after I asked nicely!!
