While 2020 certainly wasn’t the year we all imagined this time last year, on a personal note, I still had a handful of weddings dotted throughout the year. It was a tough year for the wedding industry, not just photographers, but also couples planning their weddings, moving their weddings, moving their weddings again. And of course for the couples below who decided to get married, in a pandemic. I’m used to photographing weddings with 200 to 350 people, so with lots of relations, lots of friends. I know these couples below were missing some of their best friends on their wedding day. But having shot their intimate weddings, I also know they had some fabulous days with their families and some friends. I just did what I always do, and tried to document their day, get some relaxed portraits, to give them something they’ll remember forever. In 10, 15, 20 years time, with the help of my images, they’ll definitely have stories to tell of the year 2020, when they got married!
So in typical end of year fashion, here’s my last post of the year, the best of, pictures of the year as you might call it!
Years ago when I was dreaming of becoming a Formula 1 photographer, the magazine that influenced me, F1-Racing, always did a year in review with their staff photographers, calling it Pictures of the Year, and it was always something that I looked forward to and naturally soaked in as I dreamed of doing that job one day – 3 end of year issues is what it took me to get there, 1999, 2000, 2001…by the time 2002 end of year came out I was already working in the industry and on the way!
So here’s my take on the my weddings of 2020. If you follow the website, you’ll have seen some of these pictures throughout the year, but there are of course plenty of unseen images too!
I hope you enjoy looking through these images as much as I did picking them out! Of course if you are looking for a wedding photographer for either 2021 or 2022 and have some questions for me, drop me a mail here, or use the contact page.
In no particular order, here is my Pictures of the Year for 2020!
