Janine & William, Wedding, Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo

Any wedding in January is pretty rare for me, but a wedding in January in the middle of a pandemic is even rarer! I was delighted though when Janine & William said they were going ahead with their wedding with 6 guests no matter what. I always say each wedding is unique and these intimate smaller weddings definitely are. In terms of coverage for myself, there are days when I start as normal a couple of hours before the ceremony and go onto the evening. For Janine & William’s day it was coverage of the ceremony and a shoot after. A short and sweet day but lovely none the less.

Even though I’ve shot a few intimate weddings since 2020, this was the first wedding that had an extended bunch of guests via Zoom, so even though there was only 6 guests present, there were friends and family watching the lovely ceremony in the Sligo Park Hotel!

Following the ceremony and a few drinks to celebrate, we got some relaxed portraits outside in the mild winter weather before grabbing a few family group shots in the reception of the hotel. I’m getting quite used to the smaller weddings, but this was the first time that we had the run of a hotel…that felt pretty weird as there’s normally people floating all around hotel receptions!

With things moving around again, I’m not 100% sure when my next wedding will be…I’ll hopefully have one in March, then maybe a couple in April. Right now, it looks like May might kick things off proper, but as we all know right now, it’s very much a waiting game.
