Lisa & Conor, Wedding, Butlers Bridge to Farnham Estate Co.Cavan
Full disclosure: this wedding is in the top 5 of my hottest weddings I’ve ever shot in! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever sweated more throughout a day working, and that includes photographing Formula 1 in Bahrain in 46 degrees C and also the Malaysian Grand Prix in upwards of 30 odd degrees C with probably something like 99% humidity! The difference, in F1 I had breaks galore during the days. With a wedding, it’s go go go all day long!
But what a stunning wedding! The last wedding of a three day stint, which actually started with a wedding in Farnham Estate two days before, so just random luck that I ended up here again for Lisa & Conor’s day. Again you can see from the images, that this was just a super fun, happy wedding to be part of. Whether it was the sunshine, the heat or the break from lockdowns, every guest was just super happy & smiling all day long, making my job easy (apart from the heat!!).
The bride & groom, Lisa & Conor, were great getting images, as that heat can be tricky, but we grabbed a couple in front of the old Farnham house, then retreated to the shade in the stunning garden where we grabbed a few more quick portraits. Everything else we captured then was done in the shelter of some big trees cooling us down! And finally an hour before sunset when it had cooled down a little, we grabbed a great group shot, before firing up some sparklers, where everything & anything just happened in front of my camera!
As you know bands or dj’s still aren’t allowed at weddings, so the few weddings where I’ve been staying late do still have a first dance, but it’s very spontaneous and almost not planned. I’ve seen a couple of dances take place outside, inside the hallway of an old house, and Lisa & Conor had the groomsmen rock the playlist while they had their first dance. And you know what, I’m loving these off the cuff first dances, it’s relaxed, super fun and great to see the bride & grooms just going for it!
Congratulations again Lisa & Conor…thanks for rocking your day, bearing that heat & going with all of my recommendations for timings!
