Elaine & Sean, Wedding, Westport to Mulranny Park Hotel
The one and only time I had photographed, actually was a second shooter, in Westport church was back in 2006, when I was still a Formula 1 photographer! I was helping out another guy on a free, non-F1 weekend, and seeing if weddings were something I wanted to do and leave F1 behind. Just for whatever reasons, I had never been back to Westport cathedral, until Elaine & Seanās wedding a couple of weeks ago!
When you have a stunning location, you always want to take in the surrounding areas, especially when Elaineās home had a fab view of Croagh Patrickā¦but like those who live by the coast, it can be surrounded by coastal fog, and such was the case when I left Strandhill and arrived in Westport, you couldnāt see the Reek! But low & behold as soon as Elaine popped her dress on, the fog cleared for long enough for us to get a few bridal portraits and family pictures with the infamous mountain in the background!
The rest of the day went pretty sweet! A super quick ceremony, was followed by a short drive to a nearby abbey to get a few pictures before arriving in sunny Mulranny! As I was staying on for a bit of dancing, and the weather was still great, myself Elaine & Sean, wandered down to the beach area after dinner. This is always a great idea for summer weddings, if Iām staying for the dancingā¦do some more portraits in the evening, which gives you more time in the afternoon to spend with guests!
Congrats again Elaine & Sean! Thank you so much for having me be part of your wedding and for being super timely all day!
[ā¦] made me feel very welcome and that continued for the rest of the day as I had photographed Conalās sisters wedding only two years ago, so I was very well known and that always makes for a great relaxed day as [ā¦]
