Lisa & Rob, Wedding, Collooney to Markree Castle
Photographing weddings at Markree Castle in the November dusk is quite simply stunning! With the light fading but the castle ambiance coming through, it’s hard to beat!
I work with a lot of relaxed couples on their wedding day…I’m lucky in that way! But Lisa & Rob probably top the most relaxed couple list! They just rolled with everything, weather, light, didn’t matter, they did whatever was needed to get some relaxed portraits!
So that’s exactly what we did! Whatever the weather threw at us, we rolled with it. Heavy rain in the morning cleared to sunshine, the best sunshine November can deliver, just when Lisa & the girls were dressed, perfect timing! We got all the family pictures done in Markree Castle’s billiards room following the ceremony, where after every grouping it got darker & darker as the evening closed in! We captured the bridal party pictures in record time before it just lashed down on us but thankfully we were right next to the castle door! Finally when that cleared a few minutes later, Lisa & Rob were still up for getting some outside shots in the last of the evening light, pushing my cameras limits, but getting some gorgeous atmospheric relaxed portraits with the twinkling lights of the castle in the background!
After all that, it was all inside in the warmth of the castle, where we were surrounded by family, friends and Christmas trees & Christmas music…my first time to hear Christmas tunes that year!! Oh, and Lisa & Rob had a gorgeous first dance outside in the chilly courtyard before letting loose back inside the dungeon bar!
Congratulations again Lisa & Rob! Thanks for everything on your wedding day and just rolling with everything!
