Sligo Airport Weddings in Strandhill…are they a thing? Well kind of, but not really! But recently a bride & groom from the area did arrange to have access for a few minutes on the runway to get some quick relaxed portraits done, on their wedding day!

We had access, and were escorted down the runway in the wedding car, but as the runway was still live with little Cesna’s flying around & landing every few minutes, we really only had 5 minutes to get some stuff done! No pressure! Thankfully we had a good few portraits already done in a garden beforehand, so when we hit the runway, it was all about showing where we were!

Before these portraits, I had only done one sneaky engagement shoot in & around the runway, but this was 8 or 9 years ago, when the walking path around the runway didn’t exist and you could walk on, snap a few shots & walk off again with no issues. It’s so busy now with the Knocknarea loop walk, that this isn’t possible anymore.
