Caroline & David, Wedding, Collooney to Radisson, Sligo

What a relaxed Sligo wedding, start to finish!

A few days before the 20th, I photographed Caroline & David to get them a little used to the camera. I also got to meet Harry their Bernese mountain dog! He was later ‘put’ on top of their wedding cake!

I photograph a lot of relaxed weddings, I always mention it, but Caroline & David’s day was really relaxed! With some real mammoth drives to weddings recently, it was a nice change to be basically local in Sligo all day long! From Caroline getting ready around the corner from the church (for me it was around the corner!) to the short drive to Hazelwood then onto the Radisson, it maximised the couples time with their guests after the church and at the reception.

The great thing about summer weddings, is that if it rains at some point during the day, we can always sneak out after the meal as it’s bright well up until 10pm! And that’s what we did on this day. As we drove to Hazelwood, we encountered the heaviest rain I’ve seen in weeks, but thankfully when we arrived to get some pictures, it stopped for ten minutes for us, and that was enough to get a few relaxed portraits around Half Moon Bay. I knew the weather was due to clear later that day, so was always planning to sneak out after the meal to get a few more portraits with Benbulben in the background at the back of the Radisson!
