Hannah & Alan, Wedding, Markree Castle

I’ve photographed a few international brides this year, mainly American, but for this wedding, Norway was represented by Hannah, and Ireland by Alan! I had only met the couple a few days before their wedding, as we squeezed in a quick engagement shoot around the River Garavogue near Sligo town.

Another Markree Castle wedding and another gorgeous relaxed day. I think the only thing that went a little astray was the little bit of rain right before the ceremony outside was due to begin, but Nicholas and the crew in the castle made a last minute change to the chapel in the castle, which worked out equally as well. And with a friend of the couple overseeing proceedings, the ceremony was gorgeous & covered all the important bits – I particularly liked the “By the Power of Greyskull, I now pronounce you man & wife”…I wonder how many guests caught that bit!!

Whatever rain had scuppered the outdoor ceremony had passed over by the time the ceremony finished inside, so we all went outside, got a quick group photo of all the international guests, a few quick family photos, then all the bridal party, bride & groom relaxed portraits around the gardens.

The rain returned later just as we were about to fire up some sparklers so we changed tact again and lit them up under the car port area of the castle, and boy did we fill it up with smoke & get all the castle fire alarms going & crowd cheering!

Congratulations again Hannah & Alan! It was such a pleasure working with you both & your friends & family during the day & evening!
