WEDDING 14TH JULY BALLISODARE-BALLYGAWLEY

sligo weddingsCongratulations Amelie & Brendan!

Iā€™ve been photographing weddings in Castle Dargan since 2008 I think. I got married myself in Castle Dargan so thatā€™s saying something! Itā€™s a venue thatā€™s surrounded by stunning areas for photographs, without leaving the main reception area! Get your pictures done quickly where youā€™re guests can see you and know where you are so you ultimately get to spend more time with themā€¦thatā€™s what a wedding is all about isnā€™t it? Some days itā€™s wet unfortunately but thereā€™s still areas where thereā€™s some natural light and we can still get lovely pictures but staying dry!

Iā€™ve photographed plenty of mixed nationality weddings, but this was my first German-Irish wedding! Back in my Formula 1 days, I had the opportunity, usually twice a year, to go to Germany for the two Formula 1 races there, in Hockenheim and the Nurburgring, at the height of Michael Schumacherā€™s dominance in the series. While it never seemed to have the ā€˜glamourā€™ of somewhere like Italy, I absolutely loved going to Germany.

And Amelie & Brendanā€™s wedding was just as good as those times! Coming back after my dadā€™s passing could have been stressful and tricky and even more so with the forecast of non-stop rain, but this couple, their families & friends from near & far were great to work with, plenty of fun & just got on with enjoying their day, no matter how wet it was!
