Lianne & Craig, Wedding, Strandhill Co.Sligo to Castle Dargan

I love local weddings, what photographer doesn’t! And Lianne & Craig’s was as local as you can get! I can see the church from my house, Lianne walked to it in the glorious sunshine, and there were people we all knew at the sea front when we grabbed a few pictures after the ceremony!

And what a fun, super summer wedding this was! The heat just brought out the best in people! It didn’t matter if it was a bridesmaid getting locked in a bathroom in the morning, or being surrounded by strangers on the sea front, it just was a beautiful, mega fun wedding, with a bridal party up for a good laugh too. Oh, did I mention it was hot too, probably some of the hottest weather I’ve experienced in Strandhill, with zero breeze! On days this hot, you’ll usually find me on a kayak or lounging on a secret beach in the area, but this was a rare weekend for me, where this wedding was the middle day of a three day wedding weekend…all days getting gradually hotter!!

It really is a small world! There’s still a few random links that I come across when shooting weddings! Craig the groom is a musician and happened to be on the Voice tv show a few years ago on RTE! That same season of the the Voice was won by Brendan McCahey, whose wedding I photographed back in 2010!

Just following on from the music side of things, once again Sinead Conway was singing at this wedding. We had Sinead at our own wedding in 2010, so absolutely love when she’s at a wedding I’m photographing. And of the 10 weddings I’ve shot since coming back in mid-June, she’s sang at 7 of them, including a stunning one just this past weekend…more on that soon!
